Mrs Dennis teaches Sparrows and is supported by Mrs Davis.
Our Sparrow class is the start of our journey into Key Stage 2.
We have discrete English and Maths lessons daily and we have weekly Science, Art/Design and Technology, History and Geography lessons.
The areas of learning covered in Sparrows are varied, interesting and fun. They include the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. We look at a range of artists and try different media to create our own art work. The study of the continents of the world and life in different countries are part of our Geography curriculum.
We visit Forest School for two sessions each half term to build on our skills and knowledge covered in the classroom.
Physical Education is an important area and we have two hours a week of PE or Games. We have an indoor session on a Wednesday morning with a gymnastic specialist and an outdoor session on a Thursday morning with a specialist games teacher.
In Key Stage 2 we start learning a Modern Foreign Language. Sparrows start by learning French.
In Sparrows we work hard to maintain and follow our school values: Wisdom, Hope, Dignity and Community. All our lessons have a link to our values and we build on our knowledge and skills through discreet teaching in Personal and Social Education and Religious Education.
The Sparrows class learn a lot and more importantly, have fun doing so!
