Pupil Premium Funding
The Pupil Premium is additional to main school funding and is directly related to the number of pupils receiving free school meals.
What is Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is additional to main school funding and is directly related to the number of pupils receiving free school meals, currently £1,320 per pupil. This money is not ring fenced but should be used to improve outcomes for those children.
There are also allocations for Post Looked After Children of £2,300 and Service Personnel Children of £300 per child respectively.
Feckenham CE Primary School’s Pupil Premium Funding
For the year 2019/2020 our school was allocated £6,600 through Pupil Premium funding.
How is it being spent?
Following an audit of needs with senior staff and Governors, our allocation of Pupil Premium has been used to put extra support staff into classrooms, buy resources to support learning, for example specialist language and maths resources and provide funding for school trips and after school clubs (including clubs outside of school). This will be reviewed each year therefore it may be that the funds are used differently in the future.
Impact of the extra funding through Pupil Premium
We feel the extra funds have helped secure good teaching and learning opportunities across the classes and as a result the large majority of pupils targeted have made good or better progress in all areas of Maths and most areas of English.
As our pupil premium children are small in number, we have decided not to publish attainment, as it could be possible to personally identify individuals.
Monitoring of Pupil Premium Funding
The Head, Senior Staff and Governors all monitor the effectiveness of the use of Pupil Premium and will review the impact at least three times each year. Parents and Carers are free to contact the school if they require any further information regarding Pupil Premium Funding.
Following the decision by the Government to enhance the profile of P.E in schools and the increased focus on promoting healthy and active lifestyles for young pupils, primary schools have been given specific funding to support these aims.
