The church in Feckenham is known as St John the Baptist Church. The school has a good association with the church. Regular half termly visits and assemblies are undertaken – linked to the curriculum and the school value that is being promoted. In addition, the school benefits from an Open the Book presentation regularly, that illustrates bible stories in an interesting and thought provoking manner.

Each term there is a celebration assembly in the church and each Christmas there is an exceedingly popular Carol Service undertaken by Year Three and Four. Through the Community Group, the school gets involved in good causes such as the Redditch Food Bank, Syrian Refugees or Operation Christmas Child – and many more. The school has also been an active participant in church activities that aid the curriculum being studied. Remembrance Sunday is a good case in point.

This is our school prayer and we say this daily in each class:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for helping us grow to live life in all its fullness.
Please help us to hold dear the values of:

Wisdom

Hope

Dignity and

Community

So we may be wise when it matters
Hopeful in our times of despair
Fair and respectful to others and
Serve our communities well

We ask this in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
Amen

Each class in the school has a prayer and worry box in order to allow children to offer up prayers or concerns and these are attended to each Monday in assembly. The boxes are regularly checked for well-being issues that can be tackled directly in the school.
