Welcome to Year 3

Mr Small and Mrs Little teach Year 3 and are supported by Mrs Oliver, Mrs Davis and Mrs Rutter.
Year 3 is the start of our journey into Key Stage 2.

We have Literacy and Maths lessons daily and we have weekly Science, Art/Design and Technology, History and Geography lessons. The subjects covered in Year 3 are varied, interesting and fun. They include the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. We look at a range of artists and try different media to create our own art work. The study of the continents of the world and life in different countries are part of our Geography curriculum.

We visit Forest School on a Friday morning with Miss Welsh where we enjoy getting back to nature and further our Forest School skills.

Physical Education is an important area and we have two hours a week of PE or Games. We have a specialist who teaches Games skills on a Thursday morning.
In Key Stage 2 we start learning a Modern Foreign Language, Year 3 start by learning French.

We work hard to maintain and follow our school values: Wisdom, Hope, Dignity and Community. All of our lessons have a link to our values and we build on our knowledge and skills through discreet teaching in Personal and Social Education and Religious Education.

In Year 3 we learn a lot and more importantly, have fun doing so!
