Welcome to Year 3

Sparrow Class

Mr Small and Mrs Little teach Sparrows and are supported by Mrs Barker, Miss Welsh.

Our Sparrow class is the start of our journey into Key-stage Two. We have Literacy and Maths lessons daily and we have weekly Science, Art/Design and Technology, History and Geography lessons. The areas of learning covered in Sparrows are varied, interesting and fun. They include the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. We look at a range of artists and try different media to create our own art work. The study of the continents of the world and life in different countries are part of our Geography curriculum.

We visit Forest School on a Friday morning with Miss Welsh where we enjoy getting back to nature and further our Forest School skills.

Physical Education is an important area and we have two hours a week of PE or Games. We have a games specialist who teaches Games skills on a Thursday morning.

In Key-stage Two we start learning a Modern Foreign Language. Sparrows start by learning French.

In Sparrows we work hard to maintain and follow our school values: Wisdom, Hope, Dignity and Community. All our lessons have a link to our values and we build on our knowledge and skills through discreet teaching in Personal and Social Education and Religious Education.

The Sparrows class learn a lot and more importantly, have fun doing so!
